The Cigar Events is a free national directory of cigar events operated by The Cigar Guys. We built it to need as little of your data as possible: there are no accounts, no tracking cookies and no ads. This page explains, in plain language, what little we do handle.
The Cigar Events is operated by The Cigar Guys. We list cigar events — tastings, pairings, lounge nights and festivals. We do not sell tobacco, we do not sell tickets, and we are not affiliated with any manufacturer or venue.
- Event submissions. When you submit an event we collect exactly what you type into the form: the event name, dates, time, venue, address, city, type and description.
- Approximate location. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) tells us the approximate city your connection appears to come from. We use it once, at page-load time, to pre-select a default city filter. We do not store it, and you can switch to any city (or everywhere) at any time.
- Rate-limit counters. To limit spam, we keep a counter of submissions per network address. Counters expire within an hour.
- Standard server logs. Cloudflare processes requests to serve the site and keeps operational logs per its own policies.
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details, precise location, or anything requiring an account — the site has no accounts. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
The point of submitting an event is publication. Everything you enter in the submission form is published on the public directory, immediately after an automated check. Do not include personal information you don’t want public.
Submissions are screened automatically by an AI model (run on Cloudflare’s infrastructure) that checks whether the listing is a genuine cigar-related event. The text you submit is processed for that purpose only.
The site runs entirely on Cloudflare (hosting, database, and the moderation model). Event listings may link to third-party ticketing or organizer sites; those sites have their own privacy policies.
Published listings — including past events — are kept as a public record of the calendar. If you want a listing you submitted corrected or removed, email us and we’ll take care of it.
This site is about tobacco-related events and is not directed at children. If you believe a minor’s information appears here, contact us and we will remove it.
Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port data relating to you. Given how little we hold, the fastest path is simply emailing us at info@thecigarguys.com.
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the site.
